My Story

I remember growing up watching nature documentaries like Planet Earth and LIFE with my family and being absolutely mind blown as to what our planet holds. From the snowy mountain tops of the Himalayas to the complex ecosystem of the Amazon Jungle I became fascinated in our world with a strong desire to explore it.

My family and I would go to outdoor film screenings and events like Warren Miller films, REEL Rock Tour, GoPro Mountain Games, and most recently, the Free Solo film where I got to meet one of my favorite adventure photographers, Jimmy Chin. I've also been a long time fan of the video game "Uncharted" as it felt like playing Indiana Jones discover far and distant places All these films and events really helped solidify my desire to explore and were incredible experiences that helped ignite my passion for travel and the outdoors even further!

My family has been drawn to nature through generations with my grandfather's love for mountaineering, my father's love for mountain biking, and my brother's love for rock climbing. I enjoyed tagging along in their passions and so far have landed on hiking as my favorite, mainly due to how accessible it was for me, just strap your boots on and go!

Having been born and raised in Boulder Colorado I was fortunate enough to be incredibly close to nature as well as the outdoor community. Although I had great access to the outdoors when I was younger, I didn't go outside that much and instead stayed indoors playing video games. It wasn't until I found my passion for photography did I start to truly explore.

Photography opened doors for me in more ways than one. I learned to look at the world in a different perspective and to be able to document my experiences and share my memories with loved ones was powerful. It was a way to truly express myself and got me out in the world to explore not only new places but interests as well. I'm the type of person whose found many interests and hobbies often switching between them, exploring in a way. Photography has been the tool that's helped me continue to explore tons of different interests and hobbies through a unified passion of documenting.

What has become more and more apparent to me in my life is a NEED to be outside and the desire to see the world. I'm sure many of you have that same feeling which is why you may be interested in my work and currently reading this! :)

Ever since I was young I've always looked at the job I've had as part as my identity. I never wanted a job where I separated work life and social life. I've always tied my work closely to who I am and imprint my personality into what I create.

I never wanted to have a desk job and instead have been working towards a living doing what I'm passionate about that not only brings me joy but allows me to help others and learn from both the environment and the people I meet to further develop myself as a person. I hope to continue on this path of venturing out in the world while not only inspiring others but helping them do the same. I feel all people are explorers in a sense whether that be physically, intellectually, or spiritually and I hope to play a part in making this world a better place through conservation and meeting with people to develop change through action.
